Motorcycle Insurance in the UK
In the UK, there is one golden rule with insurance that applies to any make or model of motorcycle, shop around and get as many quotes as possible.
Every year when your insurance comes up for renewal, shop around again and get as many quotes as possible.
Every year around the beginning of April I check out the motorcycle insurance market,
I have found there are only really a few motorcycle insurance companies / brokers since they keep buying each other out.
Above is my current list of motorcycle insurance companies / brokers, I will at least check and update the list around the beginning of every April.
The list above in my opinion and research are all the ones you need.
Insurance brokers normally work on behalf of several insurance companies, the broker finds the cheapest one for you.
There are several brokers in the list because they often work for different insurance companies.
Other brokers seem to me to deal with the same insurance companies and quote the same prices as the brokers in the list above and so are not on my list.
I can not tell you which insurance company is the cheapest or most expensive for you, it depends on so many variables including your age, bike and location.
Don’t be surprised if you see variations of 50% or even over 100% in the cheapest and most expensive price.
Some insurance companies change their risk assessment system every few months and can also lead to a dramatic change in price.
To save time, when you get a quote, look for a save option or reference number so you can come back later and not have to enter all your details again.
Some companies offer free breakdown, legal expenses, protected no claims (if you have any), so keep an eye out for any you would like to have.
